As if Harry Potter wasn't bad enough.... (AND a Recommended movie)

I got this from Sis. Jessica's blog. You can read the article by clicking the link above.

The author of Harry Potter recently stated publicly that a main character in her books and movies is GAY. I guess her writings being filled with witchcraft wasn't bad enough, now one of the main characters is gay. The Bible is strictly against BOTH of these issues! Here is the link to the story on CNN....Dumbledore is gay, 'Harry Potter' author reveals - CNN.com

(As a warning.... I wouldn't recommend that you look up information about Harry Potter or Witchcraft on the internet. You have to be VERY careful when doing this. Some people that we know did this, and ended up on actual Witchcraft websites, and messed up their family pretty bad!!)Did you know that the "Spells" in these movies and books are REAL witchcraft spells that are practiced by the witchcraft occult?? (This information came from an ex-Satanist and Ex-Witchcraft Participant). Why would we let our children watch these movies or read these books?? If you didn't know that these movies and books are wrong, then I urge you to get these items out of your house and away from your children. If you would like to know more about this matter I would recommend you buy the movie "The Occult in your Living Room" This DVD set was done by a man named Stephen Dollins, he is a Christian now... but before the Lord saved him he was a Satanist High Priest for seven years with Anton LaVey's Church Of Satan. Now he has made this DVD set to show us some of the things that are related to witchcraft and satanism that are in MANY christian homes. My family watched these movies and we couldn't believe the things that were in our home that had witchcraft symbols on them. Of course after watching the movie we threw them ALL out, and now we see these symbols everywhere. This is just another way that Satan is corrupting the world. I would say this movie is a MUST SEE for every Christian family!!Here is the link to the DVD set....Cutting Edge Bookstore- Detailed Item Information (I also found the DVDs on Ebay much cheaper than they are at this site. But they are still worth the money!!)Here is what the website says about this DVD set...."Stephen Dollins, ex-Satanist High Priest for seven years with Anton LaVey's Church Of Satan, gives his personal testimony of how the power and love of Jesus Christ delivered him from the dark world. He says he could walk through the home of most any Christian and would be able to fill a large box with items that would shock you to discover they are occultic and giving Satan permission to destroy you and your family. He exposes the subtle devices used to infiltrate the homes of Christians and non-Christians alike to lure the young and old into the practice of witchcraft and Satanism."

Stats prepared by Gil Angers, Westside Baptist Church, Ken Fielder, Pastor 2004
If we had the same number of Christian workers in Canada and the US as are in North America there would be like seven churches (TOTAL) in both countries combined! That really puts in clear view how sadly lacking we are in missions support and how lazy and complacent we have become about a world that is dying. I also read that there are over 6,000 languages, and that roughly 3,000 of them do not have a translated Bible! According to one website, that works out to around 250 million people! What is gonna have to happen to wake America up and help them see how rich and lazy we have become?

A Merry Heart

I got this from the Good Report

"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." Proverbs 17:22
THE ART OF CONVERSATION
Trying to get a word in edgewise with some people is like trying to thread a sewing machine with the motor running.
**********************************************************************
We like the fellow who says he's going to make a long story short - and does.
**********************************************************************
Did you hear about the new new toothpaste that has shoe polish in it? It is for anyone who puts his foot in his mouth.

Q: "What's more clever than speaking several languages?"
A: "Keeping your mouth shut in one."
**********************************************************************
When you are in deep water, it's a good idea to keep your mouth shut.

AT THE RESTAURANT
Waiter: "How did you find your steak, sir?"
Customer: "I just lifted one of the brussel sprouts and there it was!"
**********************************************************************
"Waiter, why in the world do you have your finger on top of my steak?"
"So it won't fall off the plate again, sir."
**********************************************************************
Waiter: "May I help you with that soup, sir?"
Sailor: "What do you mean, help me? I don't need any help."
Waiter: "Sorry; from the sound I thought you might wish to be dragged ashore."
**********************************************************************
Customer: "Waiter! There's a fly in my soup."
Waiter: "That's strange. There were two of them when I left the kitchen."
**********************************************************************
Customer: "Waiter, I'm so hungry I could eat a horse!"
Waiter: "You certainly came to the right place."
**********************************************************************
Customer: "This food is terrible. I won't eat it! You had better get the manager."
Waiter: "Won't do any good, mister. The manager won't eat it either

“I Live by the Ten Commandments!” Really? Take the Test!

by Pastor Art Kohl

April 2004 Message of the Month

Listed below, in simpler terms, are the 10 Commandments. To study them in their actual wording, consult Exodus 20:3-17 and Deuteronomy 5:7-21 in the Bible. How many of these commandments have you broken? Pick either yes or no.

1. No other gods before Me.
Have you ever put yourself before God? Even once? Have you ever put money before God? Pleasure? Your family? Your children? Your house or possessions? Have you ever put anybody or anything before God? Even once? Yes or No

2. No graven images
Have you ever prayed to, adored, or just simply owned a picture or statue of Jesus, Mary, a saint, an angel, or a cherubim? Even once? Yes or No

3. Don’t use God’s name in vain
Have you ever cursed God’s name? Jesus’ name? Have you ever used His name lightly with a phrase such as “Oh, my God”? Even once in your life? Yes or No

4. Keep the Sabbath day holy
The Sabbath (Saturday) was a perpetual sign between God and the nation of Israel (Exodus 31:16). The only thing we have similar to this is the Lord’s Day (Study Revelation 1:10; 1 Corinthians 16:1,2; Acts 20:7; Hebrews10:25). Have ever used a Sunday to do anything but honor Jesus Christ? Yes or No

5. Honor your father or mother
Have you ever embarrassed your father or mother? Did you ever disobey them? Even once? Ever talk negatively behind their back? Yell at them? Argue with them? Fight with them? Ignore them? Yes or No

6. Do not kill
“Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer...” 1 John 3:15. Have you ever hated anyone? Even once? Yes or No

7. Do not commit adultery
Have you ever had premarital or extramarital sexual relations? The Bible also says, “...whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” (Matthew 5:28) Have you ever looked at someone and lusted after them? Even once? Yes or No

8. Do not steal
Have you withheld tithes and offerings from God? See Malachi 3:8. Have you ever taken a paper clip or candy bar without paying? Cheated on your taxes? Worked under the table? Even once? Have you kept your life back from God? Have you ever not given your employer a full day’s work for a full day’s wage? Yes or No

9. Do not lie
Ever exaggerated? Embellished a story? Told a half-truth? White lie? Outright lie? Were you ever dishonest? Even once? Yes or No

10. Do not covet
Have you ever seen something in a store, magazine, or ad that you began to crave? Have you ever desired anything someone else owned? Such as a house, car, money, or possessions? What about someone else’s husband or wife? Ever had money burn a hole in your pocket over something? Clothes? Jewelry? Yes or No

So how did you do? If you did not answer “no” to all ten, you are in big trouble with God, Who will judge us by His law. The Bible says, “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” (James 2:10).
The very law we try to live by ends up putting a curse on us: “For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.” (Galatians 3:10,11).
Christ is the only One who can save us from our sins and the curse of law. “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:” (Galatians 3:13).
The law condemns us. It does not justify us. It was not meant to save us but to bring us to the Saviour. “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.” (Galatians 3:24,25).
This subject is wrapped up in a nutshell in Romans 3:28, “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.”
Trust in Jesus Christ today as your Saviour. Do not trust in yourself or in the 10 Commandments to save you. These condemn us.

Hello, Preachers!
In just a couple of weeks we will host our fifth annual Preaching Jubilee! Please mark FRIDAY, JULY 6, 2007 on your calendar, and plan to be with us at Gospel Light Baptist Church!

Come prepared to preach and to hear preaching! I'll be calling on preachers from the floor, beginning at 10 AM and going until supper time. We will be feeding all of our guests lunch and supper, as well as a midafternoon snack.

Can I count on you to be with us this year? I appreciate your friendship. I will benefit if you will attend, the other preachers will be helped if you attend, and I do believe and am praying that YOU will be helped if you attend! Come join us for a great time of preaching, praying, singing, and fellowship!

I know that you may be struggling, battling, and going through difficult times. Pull away from it for one day and get refreshed!

If you're coming from out of town and want to stay in the home of one of our members, please get in touch with me! If you can get here and back, we'll take care of feeding and housing you while you're here! If you need directions, use the Yahoo map at www.brothermike.com.
See you there!

You Are 56% Texas
At first, you seem Texan... but just because a chicken has wings don't mean it can fly.

You Will Not Be a Cool Parent
And that's pretty okay. While your kids may not think of you as a friend, they will respect you.You know that kids need discipline and structure, and you're not afraid to give it to them.Just be careful that your strictness doesn't lead to rebellion. It's good to have standards and rules, but you don't need to have an iron fist when enforcing them.
