Fight On! Part 1

On July 4, 1944, two B-24s collided in midair and 2nd Lt. George B. Smallfield, pilot of one of the aircraft, was pitched out of the airplane at 10,000 ft. without a parachute. As he fell to certain death, Lt. Smallfield spied a parachute falling to earth right beside him. The desperate flyer grasped at the chute, and, still falling quickly, donned it and pulled the rip cord. He was the only man from his aircraft to survive. Fight on!

Katie,

Do you have "Fight On"? I do too. It is a good book. Where did you brought your copy? The ones I posting on my blog is from his newsletters.

I don't have my own copy, but my Dad has it so I read his. I believe he bought it the last time Bro. Sam Gipp was at our church, but I'm not positive. I still like to open it and read one or two stories now and then.

Bro. Gipp used to come into our church a lot when I was a kid, but it has been several years since I've even seen the Gipps. I think my Dad saw him sometime last year a meeting somewhere else. I didn't know he had a second "Fight On!" book...I'll have to look into getting it. : )
