Great, we have some true intellectuals on this site... Please lets not forget that the old testament says that homosexuality is a sin before God, that I can sell my eldest daughter into slavery, that I can stone my brother for making threads from different cloths, that touching the skin of a pig makes one unclean, that one can be put to death for working on the sabbath. Am I gay? No! You have been given the freedom to practice religion. I respect that. I personally believe that most religions limit a person's ability to think freely and generally breed intolerant/ ignorant people, but I still believe that it is your right to practice religion. . Do you realize that Jesus hung out with whores and some of the more unsavory people of his time. That his teachings were of tolerance and love. Let him who is without sin cast the first stone! If you really want to argue about the sanctity of marriage I think it would be better to start by looking at the stupidly high divorce rates in this country.

You are right in that he ate and drank with whores and thieves, but you must realize that Christ taught a message of repentance as well. You used the scripture of the 'adulterous woman' and Christ telling the Jews to cast the first stone if they were without sin. But you failed to quote the end of that particular text where Christ tells the woman to 'go and sin no more' (John 8:11). Christ did not embrace the sin of those he ate and drank with; he called them to repentance and showed them their need of a savior. See the problem here and whenever subjects such as these come up is that some people don't have any problem with taking scripture out of its context and twisting it to fit their own carnal impulses. Mapoftazifosho, you wouldn't like it if I used your words to do that, so why is it we find it so easy to take scripture and flippantly throw verses at someone before we take the time to make sure that the text actually supports what we are saying. The theological term is called hermeneutics or exegesis. When we are injecting our own opinions into the text or twisting it to make it say something it's not is called Eisegesis. Do not get me wrong though, Paul places lying, fornicating, idolatry, adultery, effemination, stealing, coveting, drunkenness, reviling and swindling all on the same level as homosexuality( 1 Cor 6:9-11). What Paul is teaching is the continual lusting after these things and the continual rejection of Christ as the reason these people will not receive eternal life.
In response to Freedom1611 and the rest of those here who are quick to judge homosexuals (and a reminder to myself). The rest of Romans chapter 1 and chapter 2 which does indeed condemn homosexuals also condemns you. Read all of chapter 1 and 2 and you will see that not only homo's but those who envy , murder, cause strife, deceit, malice, who are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful are worthy of death. Paul begins Romans chapter 2 after listing all of these actions in Ch.1 by saying: Rom 2:1 - Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
So I say this.
Homosexuals appear in the bible in the cities of Sodom and Gomarrah. God in His conversation in with Abraham said that the sin (homosexuals) of theses two cites was grieuous! Gen. 18:20
And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
The sin he was talking about was obvious as you read Genesis Chapter 19. God has promised Abraham that he would spare the city if there were only ten righteousness men there, but even ten could not be found! Gen. 19:24-25.

The lifestyle of the two cities was disgusting enough for God to destroy them and all the inhabitants! He even purified the ground and plains around the cites with fire. It almost look like a nuclear blast as it was so hot it turned Lot's Wife into a pillar of salt. This is a brutally harsh judgment what some today call " an alternate lifestyles"! Again in Levituicus, God expresses His feeling on this sin in the form of a commandment.
Leviticus 18:22.
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
So, No matter what anyone say about the homosexuals act being "OK" and being an alternate lifestyle, God make it plain that is is an abomination to him and a sin WORTHY OF DEATH!!
Levituicus. 20:13.
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Else where in the Old Testament, sodomites were called abominations in 1 Kings 14:24, had their houses torn down in 2 Kings 23:7, and were generally condemned in many places.

And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that were by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove.
But, was we have read meant only the Old Testament Jew, or is there New Testament Scripture that applies? Let's look first in Romans Chapter one.
Rom 1:18-32
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
¶ Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
So in the New Testament we see that the homosexuals act is still a sin considered worthy of death by God. See also I Corinthians 6:9 where the effeminate, and abusers shall not inherit the Kingdom of God, and I Timothy 1;9-10, where again it condemns those who defile themselves with mankind. Althought, by the liberal's standard, God is "insensitive," 'intolerant," and "mean spirited' toward what they call an "alternate lifestyle," He has clearly made His point.
I Corinthians 6:9
¶ Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
Timothy 1;9-10
Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
So there it is! In plain grade English in both Testaments. Like it or not, agree with it or not, it is still straight from the Living Word of the Living God. The same Book that accurately, and without a single error, prophesied over three hundred (300) events that have already come true. It has also prophesied your destiny if you rejust It's truths! Now, these Scriptures are a good example of why so many people in our so called, "modern, educated, and enlightened" society hate God's Book! They hate it because it reveals their sins. Not just this particular sin (homosexual), but all the others they covet and love so much.
If we look back to the beginning it is easy to see what God's plan for man was with regard to relations. First of all, God created "Adam and Eve" ( not "Adam and Steve")! He created man and women and told them to " Be fruitful, muitiply, and replinish the earth." ( Gen. 1:28) Two men cannot join together and create life, neither can two women. Male with male, and female with female is against nature. it is sin and against God. It is suicide for any society to condone and allow such behavior to be accepted as normal and good, because it is neither. it is not an alternate lifestyle and studies have proven people are not " born as homosexuals" contrary to what some say to justify their sin.
Where do you read in the Bible that Jesus Christ hung out with whores and some of the more
unsavory people of his time.?
Jesus Christ is GOD. The LORD OF LORD. He is the Only true GOD in the whole world, and He is HOLY, I mean really HOLY!!!
In John 8, It say He wrote on the ground, what He wrote was Leviticus 20:10, And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. SO He (Jesus Christ) say you stone the adulterer and the adulteress and the Jews in John 8, did not did that. So that why He say in John 8:7

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. Because the Jews did not did what He ( Jesus Christ) say.
If you think Jesus Christ only is loving and think people should not talk about other people religion. You has NOT read Matthew, Mark, Luke, John.

Jesus Christ talk about Hell (Luke 16) more than He talk about Heaven (John 14).
